Questions about the therapies we offer:

What does a Shoulder and Upper Limb Physiotherapist do?

Our specialist physiotherapists assess, diagnose and treat shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand conditions. We help you recover from pain, injury, stiffness or surgery through expert manual therapy, exercise programmes and education – restoring movement and confidence in your arm again.

What conditions do you treat?

We specialise in all shoulder and upper limb problems, including:

Rotator cuff injuries and tendon tears

Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis)

Shoulder impingement and instability

Tennis elbow and golfer’s elbow

Wrist and hand pain, arthritis, or post-fracture stiffness

Carpal tunnel and post-surgical rehabilitation

If it involves your shoulder, arm, wrist or hand — we can help.

Can you help after shoulder or hand surgery?

Absolutely. We work closely with orthopaedic and hand surgeons to guide your recovery following procedures such as rotator cuff repair, shoulder stabilisation, trapeziectomy or carpal tunnel release.
Your rehab plan will progress safely from early protection to full functional return.

Do you offer hand therapy?

Yes — our experienced Hand Therapist provides assessment and rehabilitation for all wrist and hand injuries, arthritis, tendon repairs and post-operative recovery.

What treatment methods do you use?

We use a combination of evidence-based treatments, including:

Manual therapy and joint mobilisation

Soft tissue and myofascial release

Tailored exercise and rehabilitation programmes

Post-operative physiotherapy and scar management

Taping or splinting where appropriate

Wax bath for hand therapy

Education and self-management advice

Does physiotherapy hurt?

We always work within your comfort zone. Some techniques may cause mild temporary discomfort — particularly when addressing stiff or sensitive areas — but this should ease quickly. Our goal is to relieve pain, not cause it!

What makes your clinic different?

We specialise exclusively in shoulder and upper limb rehabilitation, with over 25 years of experience. Our approach is patient-centred, evidence-based, and focused on long-term results — not just temporary fixes.

Questions about Appointments:

How do I book an appointment?

You can easily book online through our website or email us.

Do I need a referral to see a Physiotherapist?

No referral is needed. You can book directly with us.
However, if you’re using private health insurance, your insurer may require a GP or consultant referral for reimbursement.

How long are the sessions?

Initial appointments are usually 45 minutes, and follow-up sessions are 30 minutes.
This allows time for reassessment, manual therapy and exercise progression.

What can I expect at my first appointment?

Your first session includes a detailed assessment to understand your pain, movement and goals. We’ll explain your diagnosis clearly, outline a tailored treatment plan, and usually start treatment straight away.

Will I get treatment on my first visit?

Yes. Once your assessment is complete, we’ll begin treatment immediately — typically including hands-on therapy and specific exercises to get you moving comfortably.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your shoulder or arm — a vest or sleeveless top is ideal. For hand or wrist treatment, we may ask you to remove jewellery or watches.

How many physiotherapy sessions will I need?

It depends on the nature and severity of your condition. Some patients improve after a few sessions, while others benefit from a structured 4–8 week programme. Your physiotherapist will outline a realistic recovery plan from the start.

Questions about Fees and Medical Insurance

What do appointments cost?

Initial appointments are £85, and follow-up sessions are £65

Do you accept private medical insurance?

Yes, we work with some insurance companies, but it's  best to check with us before you book

How can I pay for my session?

We accept payment by card, bank transfer or cash. We prefer payment at the time of booking your appointment

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes plans change. To ensure we can serve all our clients fairly, here’s our policy on late cancellations and no-shows:

If you let us know more than 24 hours in advance that you can’t make your appointment, there will be no charge. We appreciate the heads-up!
If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, a charge of 50% of the appointment fee will apply.
Should you miss your appointment without any notice, we will need to charge you the full appointment fee. We really hate to do this, but we have to maintain fairness to our other clients.
**Please note that insurance companies do not cover charges for late cancellations or no-shows, so any fees will be your responsibility.

We understand that unexpected circumstances arise, so don’t hesitate to communicate with us. We’re here to help!
